Dear Alex, Off the top of my head I can think of several examples that challenge your assumptions. The first is the role of child soldiers in guerilla warfare, specifically in west Africa. Girl children are recruited by warlords more than boy children because they are known to be calmer and more reliable in battles. The second example can be drawn from poor rural women all over the developing world. They are the ones who have more physically strenuous activity than men, walking kilometres to collect water and firewood, carrying immense loads back. In construction work specifically in India where women and men work together it is the women who carry loads on bricks on their heads and the men who lay it out. Perhaps you should do some research? |
