I am a Orthopedic surgeon and a Navy veteran from the
1970's; I strongly feel that women have a role in
National Defense outside of fighting ships and ground
combat. Women soldiers are much superior to male soldiers in an administrative capacity as anyone who
has who has worked in a military hospital will tell you.
I do feel there is a great deal of hypocrisy about
why women serve in the military. The real reason is that our ruling political class both right wing and left wing are terrified of having their androgynous male
offspring do any kind of military service.
The Vietnam War was the great emasculator of the American Establishment; feminization of the military
was the insurance policy that the white perfumed princes would never bear arms in defense of their country.
There were more black female military reservists killed
in the Gulf War than white male Ivy Leaguers.
